How to Stop a Dog From Digging Under a Fence

When we moved into a new home, we were simply elated that we had a beautiful wooden fenced in back yard that our two dogs could play in. Before when we lived in an apartment complex, it was necessary to walk them both, rain or shine, several times a day. It was a chore that no one really enjoyed, not even our dogs. They pulled and jumped trying to get free off the leash almost every time we took them out.

After we installed a nice doggie dog at our new home so they could come in and out at will into our new enclosed back yard, we thought our problem was solved! However, that thought was short lived as soon as they learned that it didn't take a lot of digging to make a hole big enough they could use to escape. We were horrified to come home form work one day and they were both out roaming the neighborhood. We plugged the hole, but by the next week it had happened again!

Then a friend recommended what they did to keep their dog in their yard and they didn't even have a fence. They had purchased an in ground wired invisible fence and their dog never gets away. The dog can't climb over the electronic signal nor can it dig underneath it.

We visited just like our friend did. We did not take down our fence, but we did get the in ground wired version to add along the bottom of our fence line and it worked! They still have the freedom to come in and out of the house at will, even when we are gone during the day, but no more escapes and roaming the neighborhood. It was a fantastic investment for the peace of mind we have now!
